The Garvey-Veihl House in Fort Worth, Texas is located in one of the oldest neighborhoods in Fort Worth. The original structure began as a cottage around 1884 at the rear of the current house.
The American Airlines Stewardess College was constructed by American Airlines in 1957 as the world's first college dedicated to training women how to become stewardesses. The Stewardess College located near DFW Airport was situated on 22 acres and provided classrooms, dorms, a beauty salon, tennis courts, a pool, and cabin simulators.
Deep in the Piney Woods of East Texas, Diboll began as a company town for the Southern Pine Lumber Company. Diboll was named for J. C. Diboll, who had sold 7,000 ac in East Texas to T. L. L. Temple, the founder of Southern Pine Lumber Company. The mill opened in June 1894 and was soon producing 60,000 board ft of lumber every day.
