The Garvey-Veihl House

The Garvey-Veihl House in Fort Worth, Texas is located in one of the oldest neighborhoods in Fort Worth. The original structure began as a cottage around 1884 at the rear of the current house. The structure underwent a change of campaign in 1890 as the family grew in prosperity.  With the newfound wealth, a large Queen Anne Classic Freestyle addition was added to the east of the residence along bustling Samuels Avenue. The recent restoration has brought the structure’s appearance back to its main era of significance during the height of Samuel Avenue’s time known as “Silk Stocking Row”.

As our very first Historic Tax Credit project, we worked on behalf of Embrey Partners, Ltd. to submit both Part B for the Texas Historic Tax Credits. Part 1 & A had previously been submitted and the Garvey-Veihl House had previously been designated as a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark.
